As temperatures rise and ecosystems shift, the United Nations has declared 2025 as the “International Year of Glaciers”. This global appeal emphasizes the crucial function glaciers serve in controlling Earth's climate and the increasing need to protect them.

At Hypershell, we believe that innovation paves the way to addressing global challenges. This year, we are proud to partner with a leading scientific research team, undertaking a glacier expedition in one of Earth’s most challenging environments.

The Mission At Hand

In partnership with the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Association for Scientific Expeditions, Hypershell will support a scientific research expedition to the Tibetan Plateau. This mission, titled Ice Dome Frontier, is part of the larger Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and will take place in the Buqu River area of the Tanggula Mountains in August 2025.

We aim to assist researchers studying glacier retreat and climate adaptation in one of Earth’s harshest environments while enhancing our exoskeleton technology through practical testing.
