After reading the reviews I decided to pull the trigger on the Pro X. I have a hard time going down hill after hiking up a mountain or in the foothills. I was super impressed when I put it on and tested it out in the coulees of Alberta. What a game changer! I am going to see a couple of my older buddies who have been having a hard time hiking these days as they get older to let them try mine on for them to see for themselves. I fully suspect their love for hunting and hiking to make a full come back with the Hyper Shell X. If I could give 6 stars I would!
I'm had my parents test it out. In this case I also custom rigged it with suspenders from Lazada to better distribute the weight and adapt it for older people who may not have the right body / leg size for the belt and leg belts to fit right.
My parents' verdict? It helps (my mum says she walks "like 20 years ago"), but it attracts curious looks and many questions / videos and they imagine it would be a little tricky having to stop and talk every 5 minutes. Until power exoskeletons become more commonplace (my sensing is within 5 years), they feel a little awkward using them.
Also couple other issues: in Singapore where we tend to wear dri-fit low friction clothing or leave areas of the thigh uncovered, the machine finds it harder to properly grip the waist and legs, necessitating the suspenders.
I bought this for my mother who has dealt with breathlessness and low stamina after suffering congestive heart failure in which she has been in recovery for several years. While medicinal treatments have greatly improved health, she often experiences breathlessness and stamina issues over long periods of physical activity. She has just started using it and honestly it appears to wildly improve her ability to go on walks in hilly terrain as well as keep up with and sometimes outpace her granddaughter. Very happy with this purchase 😄
I think its an awesome product, would like to see easier way to change modes without using smartphone, maybe a small display screen for easier use.
As for an additional thing down the road woud be to see an addition that goes further down the leg passed the knee to the ankle to help with lower leg support for
Glad to be part of history.
Exceeded all my expectations. Extremely well designed and assembled. The unit feels comfortable to wear and enables me to pick my feet up for the 1st time in years. Very happy with my purchase.
I received my Hypershell Pro X two days ago and I was waiting to test it this Sunday with some decent weather. So, I set myself the challenge of covering as many kilometers as possible on a single battery charge using my city bike. I managed to do about 50-55 km by adjusting the power settings (especially towards the end), as I ran out of battery just before getting home.
Overall, my average speed during this ride was 14 km/h, whereas with a regular non-electric bike, I’m usually between 10 and 11 km/h, and with an electric bike, I’m typically between 15 and 20 km/h. First takeaway: I managed to increase my average speed by 40% over the 4-hour ride. Second point: I felt noticeably less tired than on a normal bike (but a bit more tired than with an e-bike).
Positive points: it’s easy to use, and the app is well-designed. The device is very straightforward, and the results are real. It’s a great tool for providing electric assistance while cycling (I haven’t tried it yet for walking or running).
A few remarks:
The most important: the back and leg support slips down very easily. I had to stop 4-5 times to adjust the exoskeleton properly. I bought some special suspenders that I attached to the device, and I’ll be testing those this week. I think it would be a good idea to design a support that rests on the shoulders to prevent the device from sliding down.
When cycling, the machine’s movements can be quite abrupt and jerky at times. It would be great if the movements felt more natural and smoother—more like physiological, sinusoidal movements, and less abrupt (especially in “hype” mode).
In advanced mode, with 80% assistance, the battery drains (very) quickly. I managed 50 km only because I stayed at 30–50% power in eco mode most of the time, and the device shut off (battery empty) while still showing 10% reserve.
These are the main points I think could be improved for the next model, but for a first generation, it’s really impressive. I’m planning to test it with two of my patients (I’m a doctor), one with multiple sclerosis and another with myopathy, to get their feedback as well.
Unique. Unexpected power. Constantly stopped and questioned as to what it does. Using it mainly for walks and jogs. Tried up & down staircases and it works great.
The Hypershell X Pro has allowed my 75 year old father to regain a good portion of his mobility back. He lost a lot of strength after my mother passed away six months ago. His gait went from a short shuffle back to near full paces. He has more confidence in getting around and more dignity as well, being able to access any space he chooses, not being limited to special access requirements. I'd highly recommend this product to any senior that has low energy/strength or the shakes.
At 66 years of age I can’t do proper hillwalking any more and need twin trekking poles, but with Exoshell I’m like a mountain goat
I am enjoying using my Hypershell. my only criticism is battery life. it doesn't last as long as advertised.
I normally keep it in Eco mode between 40 and 60% power but still feel the battery could be better.
After my initial hike of about 5 miles wearing the Hypershell, I felt like I didn't want to take it off. It made the hike so much easier and more comfortable. It really performs as the company says.
funciona perfecto se me ha solucionado lo de caminar en subida
Good morning, I hope to be helpful by sharing a short review of the
Hypershell x product.
I've used the exoskeleton for various mountain activities, especially
with elevation gains of 1,500 meters. First, I'd like to say that
you've created a wonderful tool, easy to use, and that can truly open
up new hiking opportunities.
However, I'd also like to point out a few points of caution:
- Changing the battery, once it runs out, cannot be done while wearing
the product. You have to undress before starting again. Unfortunately,
this is a minor inconvenience.
- When climbing mountains, the automatic gait recognition isn't very
effective. Selecting the mountaineer option works much better, but it
leads to the side pins overheating very quickly. To keep the heat
under control (with the heating protection control function),
unfortunately, the support is missing, so you climb mountains with
additional weight and no support, resulting in considerable
difficulty.
- The exoskeleton does not provide knee support. It might be
worthwhile to provide an add-on knee brace, which can be installed if
needed.
- Mountain walking requires a greater leg lift than walking on flat
ground. This causes the leg attachment straps to move back and forth,
rubbing the skin (even shorts are worn in the mountains). It's worth
considering how to reduce this rubbing with a new design.
- Mountain walking also causes the side pins to slip backward. The
belly attachment alone doesn't keep the side pins in the correct
position. This means you have to stop every now and then and adjust
the strap to reposition the pins. When they slip backward, the support
movement is much less effective.
Thank you, and I hope I've been helpful.
Congratulations again!

I got the hypershell to help me carry my camera gear distances with my bad knees. It is a great help. It does seem to reduce the feel of weight on you while walking. My only issue is that the leg bars cross over your pockets and can sometimes press against your cell phone or items in your pockets. It can also sometimes restrict fast acess to your front pockets.
I bought it for my elderly father to help him with his mobility. He likes it.
It works as advertised seamlessly. It's easier than individually charging the batteries on the Hypershell exoskeleton.
Eccellente per lavorare sulla coordinazione e sullo schema del passo.
Exciting product! Looking forward to what comes next for this.
